King Hubbert,美国著名的地球物理学家、地质学家。由于其对能源的发现与消耗的预测而被广为人知。

Hubbert是世界上最被公众熟悉的地球物理学家之一，他在１９４９年的对化石燃料时代的预言受到广泛重视．

１９５３年，哈伯特（King Hubbert）大胆预言，美国石油出产将于1969年左右达到顶峰，达到了顶峰之后就会一直下降。虽然当时许多专家对他的预测提出质疑，但是在1970年，他所预见的情况真的发生了。从此以后，石油专家把这种情形叫做哈伯特顶点（Hubbert's peak）。

The late Dr. M. King Hubbert, geophysicist, is well known as a world authority on the estimation of energy resources and on the prediction of their patterns of discovery and depletion.

He was probably the best known geophysicist in the world to the general public because of his startling prediction, first made public in 1949, that the fossil fuel era would be of very short duration. "Energy from Fossil Fuels, Science"

His prediction in 1956 that U.S.oil production would peak in about 1970 and decline thereafter was scoffed at then but his analysis has since proved to be remarkably accurate.
